Trim through the holidays

I stayed on track with my hotel accommodations. Had to take the stairs many times while carrying varies bags up and down. Helped to keep the weight off from all the holiday goodness.

I also watched what I eat, as not to over eat or eat too much sugary substances. So many desserts, too much sugar. Its nice to splurge a little, however too much and I will be back at my high school weight before long if I continued that.

Splurge a Little

Dieting is not all about the foods you can't eat. However it is about maintain what you eat. Watch your normal diet to stay your normal weight, then cut when you need to loose some and add when you need to gain some. Maintaining eating the healthier foods is critical.

I say splurge a little. With the holidays fast approaching us, one can easily get off track. What I do to make sure I eat right and maintenance is to have one off meal a week, so I don't go over board. I get to eat one meal of anything I wish on the weekends as a reward to myself. I sometimes even eat cake or have ice cream during this meal, two things which are really bad for you if added regularly.

Doing this prevents me from cracking under the dieting pressure. If you are on such a strict diet you forget how bad those holiday foods can be on your body. Then you crack, and splurge on everything often over eating. Then you feel guilty. This routine reminds me how delicious this foods are, but also since my change in eating I feel the difference from these items more frequently. As a reminder I eat them only once a week to tell myself that I don't miss them.

Diabetes, can it be fought and won?

I believe it can. Back when I was 20, I had symptoms of diabetes. Got the low sugar headaches and everything. Now after I changed my diet and regularly exercise, I no longer have those symptoms.
Diabetes is hereditary yes. However I think it is also due to poor diet management. In the earlier stages, one can modify diet to rid ones self from the trouble outcome. If someone can identify the symptoms early and prevent further damage to the body through proper diet this can be achieved. I'm living proof.
