What makes a true health enthusiast?

Is it going to the gym?
Wrong
Is it reading the latest diet plans from your magazine?
Wrong
Is it being a personal trainer?
Not necessarily
What makes a true health enthusiast is someone who is passionate about providing others health tips, whether for free or by some book they write or seminar they put on. A true health enthusiast is someone who shares a life long passion about themselves to serve themselves and their bodies better. Doesn't have to be a Doctor, or physician or even a personal trainer.

I find that many people share a passion for a better future through the use of proper nutrition, health and wellness. However few people actually take this information to heart or beyond. Most people read a few items, think they know everything, then quit. Those people often loose site of their goals and choose to except things just because. It is also said that most people quit right before they start to see results. What a shame.

What is the purpose of working out, dieting, starving (like some do) or putting yourself through things that you really don't like to do. I mean come on, who seriously loves the gym. We hate the gym, but live the results and what we are doing for ourselves. If you workout for yourself and not others, you will progress further. Although the support of others helps, you must first have the inner desire to change, because without the inner desire, you will not push hard enough and waste your time.

After all if we were not true enthusiasts and we don't share the inner desire, why would we push ourselves that hard in the gym everyday?

Imagine a perfect you!

Better Sleep, More Energy, More lifestyle, More Happiness!

That all can be achieve with proper nutrition.
Why guess at what you should take as for a supplement. When you buy a supplement, most supplements are made for the "general" public, these supplements are not gene specific.

However I have been looking at something for a short while now that will change all that. This new supplement is made directly from your DNA from test kit which you, as the customer, uses and sends back to the company.

The test is wholly confidential and all materials are destroyed after use. Your information is then turned into an electronic scanned file for storage and your name is no longer used. That information is then reviewed and sent to your home for your own benefit. After that a gene specific formula is made from your DNA and shipped to your house in the form of a vitamin supplement.

You can choose to add additional supplements to your specific results as you see fit, at any time!
For Example:
You run marathons, jog, or play sports a lot, you may want to add Glucosamine to your supplement to better support your joints. This can be added.

Why take several different capsules of many different bottles of vitamins, when you can receive this nutrition all in one?
I say throw away your old nutritional supplements and start over with a DNA and GENE specific product.

This product has been in development for many years by a panel of scientist, they are just now getting to place this on the market! After years of development and testing to insure that this product does and will continue to do what is it meant to do, it's no wonder these men feel like it is a life achievement.
Even the government wants to place our troops on the product!

The supplement make up is 90% organic even uses a vegetable outside casing. Currently the only ingredient that is not manufactured in a non-synthetic form is Vitamin B which is added to the standard form of this supplement system.

DNA Pills?

If your into the health market your probably have never seen this yet. I know I have an extensive history in health and I have never heard of anything like this even being available to the public...until now.

GeneLink a 14 year old Bio-Sciences company is planning to launch new direct selling marketing division: GeneWize Life Sciences, to the market in August of 2008.
GeneWize offers to the public the ability to 100% personalize your vitamins based on a DNA assessment test. This assessment test is a revolutionary new health and beauty products concept and will absolutely change the way people's decision of personal health products.

This is Personalized Nutrition System (click to see)

The LifeMap system is a technologically advanced, DNA-guided, customized nutritional system based on your own unique genetic code. The same company that developed the world's First and ONLY DNA-Guided Skin Care System is now introducing a completely customized nutrition product that anyone can afford. This is advanced genetic nutrition - focused on YOU!" from parent host site.

With the baby boomer era starting to retire and becoming a higher demand on the health industry the market has been flooded with ideas of great products. However, these products are not exactly for a particular person. These so called "one size fits all" vitamins just aren't enough anymore. The demand for these products is now and the human Genome research that has been worked on for over 20 years is starting to pay off for the health industry.

Scientific studies have proven that proper nutrition can actually help to increase DNA strands to preform to there full potential. This same result has been shown to actually proven future damaged strands from preventing illnesses as well.

In a further study done by University of California Berkeley professor Jasper Rine has included:

"University of California, Berkeley, scientists, however, have found a welcome reason to delve into your genetic heritage: to find the slight genetic flaws that can be fixed with remedies as simple as vitamin or mineral supplements."

"Looked at in one way, Bruce found that you can cure a genetic disease in bacteria by treating it with vitamins," Rine said. Because the human genome contains about 6 billion DNA base pairs, each one subject to mutation, there could be between 3 and 6 million DNA sequence differences between any two people. Given those numbers, he reasoned that, as in bacteria, "there should be people who are genetically different in terms of the amount of vitamin needed for optimal performance of their enzymes."

The power of Science and Technology!

Imagine, a product that is formed from your DNA strand!

What? How can that be?

Well it's actually pretty simple. Take a DNA swap, send it in, get a vitamin produced exactly to your DNA strand. That's the power of science and technology!

"GeneWize is a wholly owned direct-selling subsidiary of a publicly traded genetic bio-sciences company (GeneLink, Inc.), that uses DNA-based genetic tests as the basis for personalizing health, beauty, wellness products. GeneWize markets its propriety genetic assessments and applied compounds to the $100 Billion plus, cosmetic, nutritional supplement, and health care industries. (OTCBB: GNLK)" (as noted on the website genewize.com)

GeneWize has plans to launch this new product to the public come August 3, 2008 in the form of Direct Marketing. The company choose Direct Marketing as its vehicle for distribution. The business model makes more sense here. GeneWize, could have gone and promoted the product via the use of commercials, however the cost to do so is so high. As they have it setup now, more people will understand, trust, and continue to use the products delivered to them. After all we trust a company which someone else is already giving us advice about.

This is a total break through waiting to EXPLODE!

For more information see these links

Here is the company site

Where to start?

People always ask me, "How do you stay fit, do you diet all the time?"

No...I don't diet at all. I simply have learned to eat healthier and 5 to 6 times a day. I eat 300-400 calorie meals 5 to 6 times a day and go to the gym.
Do the math.
300 x 5 = 1500 calories
400 x 6 = 2400 calories

Most people only require about 2000 calories a day. This all depends on your body and what you do for a living. If you are very active you obviously will require a more substantial amount of calories.

When I tell most people this way of life they figure they need to cut their calories and cut what they eat, change everything and all this stuff. Not true
In the beginning its fairly simple. If you eat a lot, cut that amount in half. That is a good start. After you get accustomed to eating this way, change your food to a better quality food.
Then move into the 5 meal a day routine. This is one example.
  • Eat a nice breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Major in protein and whole grains with some medium fruit. 450 +/- calories.

  • Eat a mid day snack or first lunch of 325 +/- calories.
    Consist of Protein, vegetables, fruit.
*Eat a mid day snack or second lunch of 325 +/- calories.
    Consist of Protein, vegetables, fruit.

  • Eat dinner of 450 +/- calories. At dinner you can eat a little more because you should be enjoying this meal by slowing down a bit and relaxing.
Large portion of protein, medium vegetables, medium fruit, minor Whole Grains.

  • Eat after dinner snack 150-200 calories or so. 3 hours after dinner and 1 hour
prior to sleep or somewhere in between.
Examples: Low fat, or no sugar yogurt or pudding, small bowl of whole grain cereal, PB&J.
Some chocolate flavored protein mix is perfect for this time.

This above examples comes out to 1750 calories a day. Some people may require more and some many require less depending on level of activity and body structure. Use as an example.

Better quality food does not have to be expensive either, nothing organic or all that jazz, just more natural, NO TV DINNERS. Look for natural food AVIOD processed foods such as anything premade or frozen entrees.

I spend about $25-$30 a week in lunch for myself, that's it. Lunch meat cold cuts or canned chicken or fish is perfect if you can't cook (tofu and soy can be used if you are a vegan), with some vegetables (broccoli, carrots, or spinach, etc.) add some fruit into the mix (grapes, bananas, apples, fruit medley, etc.) and there you go the perfect fast easy lunch for cheap.

If you can cook your lunch, look for items which are lean and easy to make either during lunch or a day in advanced.

The Peanut Butter trick

Anyone who has ever dieted tries to avoid adding fat to there diets at all cost. However if you really do the science behind this understanding, you may learn that adding fat to you diet will actually help you lose the weight you are storing. I have noted the science in my previous last two post to this blog.

I have been doing this for approx. three straight weeks now. Cutting my carb (breads and starch) intake in half. Half a slice of bread at sandwich time and have the carbs at dinner time, the primary meals of the day. Adding a spoon of peanut butter in between meals and a half of a spoon full at breakfast time.

As of this mourning I have lost approximately 7 lbs. Might I add I have not changed the amounts I eat, just changed what it was that I was eating. As mentioned below, fat does not spike your glucose or flood your system with insulin, keeping your metabolism in check and burning what you need to burn. This is a survival system. If you do not feed it fat, your body will store fat for survival in preparation of not have food available.

Best of all peanut butter is loaded with protein so you can keep going through out the day. Protein fills you up so you don't feel hungry as often, something carbs leave you feeling. Take it as a snack wherever you go.

Too Much Carbs? Part 2

Part 2 of 2 part scenario

Well my friends, I have gone through almost a 2 week trail of the below information. Trading my carbs for saturated fats.

One would think that since you are adding fat to your diet that you would gain weight. Wrong! As explained in my last entry. Carbs raise your glucose releasing insulin into your blood stream causing your body to store weight slowing your metabolism. I mentioned the test routine of cutting half your carbs and replacing them with good saturated fats.

Successfully, I have cut my carbs by 50% and increased my natural fat intake by 50% for the last two weeks. Currently I have not gained or lost any weight by doing this. However I have become a slight bit stronger in my quest. So this goes to support the myth that one must eat fat to loose fat. One thing I can tell you is that I feel better actually doing this. I have lost the feelings of sluggishness associated with carb intake. When carbs enter the body, they turn to glucose (another form of sugar). No wonder I was getting tired, to much sugar in my blood. This can also relate to people with diabetes.

Fat does not spike, or change your metabolic rate. It simply enters the body as is and is used in energy consumption along with protein. When your metabolic rate is more constant and stable, this allows your body to use its stores, versus burn what is high or has been spiked. I honestly can't tell if I have lost any or gained any based on only a two week period. However two weeks is long enough to tell that if I have gained fat weight, it would have shown in my close.

Conclusion; Replacing carbs with natural fat (much like nuts) in the correct moderation type way, will make you preform better and possibly lost more weight then if you have not. Do replace carbs with bad or saturated fat. You must eat calories to burn calories also. If you do not eat, your body will store what it is loosing, hence your body fat. This can be as simple as eating a small scope of peanut butter in between meals to curb your appetite or munching on a handful of nuts. However like anything if you over do it, it will have side effects. I recommend not eating more then 3 scoops or 5 handfuls of nuts a day. If one goes over the limit, I would imagine they could actually gain weight.
